Frieda Bradlow Hosts VID Holiday PartyHostess Par Excellence, Frieda Bradlow,  Hosts VID Holiday Party…Again!

Grateful pols, VID members and friends vigorously bound up Frieda Bradlow’s steps on a very crisp December 15th to enter the by now celebrated West Village political parlor.  The conversation was, at times, animated, at others hushed; the food scrumptious; the drink just right.

The list of attendees?  Take note:  NYC Comptroller John Liu;  Borough President-Elect Gale Brewer; NYS Senator Brad Hoylman;  NYS Assemblymember Deborah Glick; NYS State Committee member and President of the NYS Democratic Committee Progressive Caucus, Rachel Lavine; District Leaders Keen Berger and Jean Grillo; past VID Presidents Jonathan Geballe, William Stricklin, and Katharine Wolpe; present VID President, Tony Hoffmann; Judges (and judges-elect) Frank Nervo, Kathryn Freed, Josh Hansshaft, Andrea Masley, Margaret Chan, Carol Sharpe, JJ Kelley, Dakota Ramseur, Anil Singh and Tania Kennedy; from the press Lincoln Anderson (The Villager) and photographer Tequila Minsky joined the festivities.  Even Robbie Kaplan,  famed for her successful victory before the US Supreme Court in the Edie Windsor case (overturning of DOMA) this year attended with son Jacob.

Village Independent Democrats Get Out the Vote

Our District Leader Candidates Jonathan Geballe and Keen Berger

Village Independent Democrats Get Out the Vote in possibly the most hotly contested primary in years.

But primary elections have notoriously low turnouts so every vote counts and the job won’t be done till the last voting moment at 9PM Tuesday night !

Jonathan, and the rest of the VID endorsed slate still need your support and your vote.  See our announcement and schedule here.  And, here’s what’s left to do, NOW.

There is a special Get Out The Vote phone bank on Monday, September 9th from 5:30-8:30 PM at  130 Jane Street, apartment 1C.  If interested you can contact either  Nadine Hoffman [ mailto: phonelady17@gmail.com] or Katherine Slawinski [ mailto:kathyslawinski@gmail.com]or simply show up between 5:30 and 8:30 pm.

Distribute Dear Neighbor Letters in your building.  Contact Tony Hoffmann [mailto: tonyhoffman26@gmail.com] or Jen Hoppe [mailto:jenhoppe@yahoo.com] to get sample letters.  This is critical.  If we can use your name for a Dear Neighbor Letter and/or you will distribute a Dear Neighbor letter in your building this is a most critical aspect of our campaign.

Hand out palm cards at poll sites on Tuesday.  Celia Wu [mailto:celiawu2@msn.com], Katharine Wolpe [mailto:kwolpe@gmail.com] and Tony Hoffmann [ mailto: tonyhoffman26@gmail.com] are coordinating VID’s palm carding operation for this Tuesday’s primary.  If you can spare a couple of hours to give out palm cards with VID’s endorsed candidates you would be making a significant contribution to our campaign.
