VID’s New President, David Siffert Presided Over the First Meeting of the New Year Here’s his meeting wrap-up… First I would like to congratulate our new officers — Erik Coler as Treasurer, Kathy Slawinski as Recording Secretary, Ed Yutkowitz and Jonathan Geballe as Corresponding Secretaries.  The 2019 Executive Committee includes Frieda Bradlow, Melissa Carty, Susan Gottesman, Laurie Hardjowirogo, Tiffany Hodges, Nadine Hoffmann, Jennifer Hoppe, Linda Jacobson, Nathaniel Johnson, Irene Kaufman, Cameron Krause, Alec Pruchnicki, Lois Rakoff, Deb Sherman, and Elissa Stein. May 2018 Membership Meeting

The May 2018 Membership Meeting Focused on NYS and Judicial Endorsements May 2018 Membership Meeting Minutes Erik Coler congratulated everyone for the great job done on the Candidates Forum on Monday. After reviewing the endorsement rules, Erik Coler, President, asked for a motion to allow the Executive Committee to endorse for the AG position in the fall. It was asked and approved.  The May 2018 Membership Meeting then went on to the business at hand. Frank Nervo, former VID member and President, made his presentation for the 1st Judicial District. He was endorsed, 38 votes to 2 no endorses. Comptroller Tom Dinapoli was endorsed 35 to 2 no endorses. He had spoken previously at the Forum, and was not present. Liz Krueger, candidate for the 28th District State Senate seat, was not present but was endorsed 36 to 3 no endorses. For the 2nd Judicial District, three candidates were present, […]

March Minutes with Many Resos

The March meeting introduced many resolutions and a very thorough presentation on NYC Organics Collection Program MARCH MINUTES.  Among the first orders of business were various activities surrounding the March Against Guns, scheduled for March 24th and a Gun Control Forum featuring State Senator Brian Kavanaugh on March 18.  Deb Sherman and Allison Greenberg, of the ad hoc Gun Control Committee, announced a high school walkout at the Clinton School on March 14 in honor of a student who was killed in the recent shootout.  Poster making, logistics and two resolutions highlighted the discussion.  See the more on these resolutions.    The March Minutes also reported on the election for the two State Committee positions.  Ben Yee, current State Committeeman, running unopposed and Rachel Lavine, current State Committeewoman also running unopposed.  Ben won his endorsement with 29 in support and one no endorsement; Rachel was reelected unanimously, with 30 in support.   Nat Johnson, […]
