More than 200 activists and electeds filled Frieda Bradlow’s home with the buzziest conversations on Sunday, December 10th. As “Happy Holidays to All Democrats” rang loud throughout, the rumbling of new strategies, lists of new action networks, vows to press on dominated the afternoon.

VID Petitioning Kickoff Breakfast, Saturday, June 11, 2016, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM VID Headquarters, 26 Perry Street, Lower Lever The VID began petitioning to get our endorsed NYS candidates – Brad Hoylman- State Senate,27th SD; Deborah Glick- State Assembly, 66th AD; Rachel Lavine- State Committeewoman, 66th and Benjamin Yee- State Committeeman, 66th AD – on the ballot Tuesday, June 7th. On Thursday, June 9th petitions will be available at the VID General Membership Meeting at 83 Christopher Street. On Saturday, June 11 petitions will be available at the kickoff breakfast (compliments of Assemblywoman Deborah Glick) at our 26 Perry St. headquarters from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM. All petitioners are invited. The following week VID headquarters will be open Monday-Thursday, 6:00-7:30 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM. VID’s March Meeting featured reports on the gun violence forum, the Congressional primary, an early voting bill in the NYS legislature and the Algonquin Pipeline. It ended with Club endorsements for Jerry Nadler, Carolyn Maloney, Charles Schumer and Hillary Clinton. See the full meeting minutes here. [Revised ] President Nadine Hoffmann opened VID’s March meeting by welcoming Congressman Jerry Nadler, who is up for reelection. He soon left, as he could not speak at the meeting. She then reported on the March 1 Women’s Issues forum at the Red Room, participated in by VID, DID, CODA, Manhattan Young Dems, and Councilwoman Rosie Mendez. There had also been a forum on gun violence the day before, sponsored by the VID and VRDC, and featuring Keith Wright, Richard Aborn, Leah Gunn Barrett, and Scott Stringer, among others.
