VID’s New President, David Siffert Presided Over the First Meeting of the New Year Here’s his meeting wrap-up… First I would like to congratulate our new officers — Erik Coler as Treasurer, Kathy Slawinski as Recording Secretary, Ed Yutkowitz and Jonathan Geballe as Corresponding Secretaries.  The 2019 Executive Committee includes Frieda Bradlow, Melissa Carty, Susan Gottesman, Laurie Hardjowirogo, Tiffany Hodges, Nadine Hoffmann, Jennifer Hoppe, Linda Jacobson, Nathaniel Johnson, Irene Kaufman, Cameron Krause, Alec Pruchnicki, Lois Rakoff, Deb Sherman, and Elissa Stein. October Meeting Minutes

VID’s October Meeting Welcomed Senator Brad Hoylman, Borough President Gale Brewer and Andrew Berman, Exec Director GVSHP FULL OCTOBER MEETING MINUTES The October Meeting also featured reports from Tony Hoffmann of the Campaign Committee, Nat Johnson of the Environmental Committee, District Leader Keen Berger, Deb and Allison Stowell of the Gun Reform Committee and Alison Greenberg reporting on the SBJSA bill.  Topping this off were endorsements for Judicial candidates and the ballot Propositions. Discussions began with the Campaign Committee with Tony Hoffmann speaking of buses scheduled for swing districts, with VID the leading sponsor among many downtown clubs.  Jerry Nadler is a major participant, and Scott Stringer wants to be part of the effort.  Tony also asked for volunteers at Abingdon Square for fund raising for the buses. August 2018 Meeting

August 2018 Meeting Featured Updates from Congressman Jerry Nadler and Covered Primary Plans, Immigration, Environment and Gun Reform President Erik Coler opened the August 2018 Meeting with a request to insert the Immigration Resolution into the Agenda after the Committee Reports.  This was unanimously approved along with the rest of the Agenda.  He then announced there would be no September meeting as Primary Day falls on the normal second Thursday of the month and that that the County Committee meeting would most likely be held in the last week of August, according to Ben Yee. Keen Berger’s District Leader Report covered the race for Civil Court Judge by Robert Rosenthal, the VID endorsed candidate.  Sheshe asked for volunteers. June 14, 2018 Membership Meeting

June 14, 2018 Membership Meeting Votes on Endorsement for NYS Attorney General June 14, 2018 Membership Meeting Minutes The June 14, 2018 Membership Meeting began with presentations from three candidates for the NYS Attorney General position:  Leecia Eve, Tish James, and Christine Gonzalez, speaking for Zephyr Teachout.  After this, and a general discussion of the candidates, James won the endorsement with 23 votes, with Teachout second with 13, Maloney (?) 1, Eve 1, and one no endorsement. The June 14, 2018 Membership Meeting continued with Rachel Lavine, State Committeewoman, who opened her remarks by telling us she seconded Zephyr Teachout for AG at the NYS Democratic Committee Convention.  She and others founded the NY Progressive Caucus a couple of years ago, and it is now the largest caucus.  They have accomplished a lot of things, among them, that the State Committee can no longer funnel donations, and won’t support any candidate […]
