We are posting this important invitation because the NY Metro area is directly impacted by the dangerous siting of a huge high pressure gas pipeline only 105 feet from vital structures at the Indian Point nuclear power facility. (Impact region: Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Ulster, Dutchess, New York City, Nassau, Suffolk, New Jersey and Connecticut).  Nuclear power, pipeline and medical disaster experts have been calling for a comprehensive, independent and transparent risk assessment of the convergence of these major hazards and have been joined by county legislatures that have passed resolutions, health professionals, scientists, other public officials and the public. Yet, such an analysis was not conducted.  This extremely dangerous project was approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and few options remain to halt this project from moving forward. That’s where you come in!

July 15 in Westchester: Nukes and Pipes
Wednesday, July 15th at 2:00 PM,
Hendrick Hudson Library

Nuclear expert Paul Blanch will preview critical new information about the Spectra AIM Pipeline and then make a formal presentation about the dangerous siting of this proposed pipeline next to Indian Point at a special meeting of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Petition Review Board.

A press conference, hosted by NYS Assemblywoman Sandy Galef, will precede the event, and a public Q&A will follow the formal presentation.
